A man
somewhere in India
(I forgot the name of the village too difficult to pronounce but it sounded
something like Baktwang) has family of 181 members. Can you believe that? He
can create a small army out of his family. He is 67 years old and he has 39
wifes, 94 children 14 daughter in law and 33 grandchildren. They all live in
one house that has 100 rooms. They have their own school playing ground farm and
vegetables garden.
This man is crazy. I can not get along with my one wife and I can not imagine how he does this with his 39 wives? How they cook for dinner. They must gather in a banquette hall. I simply can not imagine such a life. Image credit to Christian Haugen
We used to
have a little quarrel about the aesthetic arrangement of the room - me and my
sister she wanted to have tree wall
sculptures I want to have a motorcycle hanged on the wall. The problem is
that we share one room. If we had separate rooms it would be great but regrettably
we have such a fate. We both agree wall is too barren but we can not reach to
unilateral decision what to place there. We will make a compromise at the end
for sure but for now no one wants to step back from his desire. Maybe even this
time we won't reach an agreement...
I went to
play bowling with my friends today. I am not a keen fan to bowling but it is
fun. What I did not like though was that in the bowling hall they made us to
ware special shoes. I did not like this idea at all. These shoes have been used
by dozens or even hundreds of visitors before me. I am not convinced those are
the most hygienic shoes I can ever put on my feet. But anyway it was obligatory
to wear them if we wanted to play bowling. I am not sure I will play again in
this hall. This shoes thing is not of my liking.
My daughter
studies in the best school in town. Or at least such was the advertising for
this school. To be completely honest I don't think it is really the best
school. What made me an impression was the religious zeal of the Director. She
was kind polite good-looking good-speaking but I thought I had sensed some
religious zeal inside her. I don%u2019t believe children%u2019s fragile minds must be put
into religion while they are still young. I had realized I had made a mistake.
Yesterday I had understood from conversation with my daughter that they have tin wall crosses hanged in their
classroom. I am not against religion I am just against children being "trained"
in it. I don't want to stress my daughter changing the school but I guess I
need to.
Spain must be a favorite destination for many of us. There is something in this country which attracts people. When I am in Spain I feel at home and I can't explain where this feeling comes from. Usually when you are in a foreign place you feel a bit uncomfortable, afraid perhaps as you don't know anybody and you are a stranger in that country. At least that's how I feel. But when I am in Spain there isn't a trace of such fears and concerns. Perhaps it's the Spanish people who manage to my us the strangers and tourists feel so welcomed and comfortable. Just think about it a stupid hanging wall vase cost 200 bucks. She had this stupid thing today instead of spending same money for decent food for instant. And this vase looks grotesque. All her stuff is out of order. She mixes all the themes styles, colors. I wish she puts more efforts and money onto learning how to cook. At least this may come to some use at the end. This tasteless junk has no practical use - only to give me a headache.
I had very lovely tree wall sculptures in my bedroom. They have a history. We used to have them in our first living quarters together with my husband. It was small room with old furniture. We had nothing. This was the only non-practical decoration we had money to buy. We were very poor those days. Now we have our own house and three well educated kids. Materially we are just fine. But why I am not as happy as those days when we were poor. We had very few belongings but we were truly happy. I would give everything I own now just to get back and live those years again...
When I fly
in a plane I often think they are overreacting with the security issues. You
can not take this with you can not take that you must go from this entrance,
you need to be scanned, your luggage is being scanned and so on and so on. It
seems a bit paranoid to me all these security measures. Flying is a simple activity
- to move from point A to point B.
Now I want to talk about this damage in the Japan's Fukushima nuclear power station. In Japan they are earthquakes literally everyday. Tsunamis are well known in this region. Engineers designing and building a nuclear power stations are well educated persons. I doubt that in any case they had not thought about these two great dangers at first place. Still the incident proves that measures for avoiding the tsunami had not been taken. Now I can not fly on a plane if I have a pocket knife with me. They are a pile of strict rules and regulations that I must follow if I want to use an airplane. If I don%u2019t follow security regulations I do not fly. Can you calculate the risk and the possible outcome of a maximum damage that can be done by one person with a pocket knife on a plane? What harm can be done by one exploding nuclear station? Why in the first case security is tight and in the second it appears that it is not? And who can answer to my questions? Image credit to bfhoyt
I have realized
I am fed up from my home decorations. They look dull. I certainly need
something more appealing to the eye. I need something for peace and relaxation.
I had modern decorations but I had suddenly realized they tire me. I was
looking at the contemporary wall sculpture in my bedroom and I had pictured in
my mind flowers instead. I felt joy with the flowers. I had understood this
sculpture makes me tense. I made my decision. This week I have a quest to
fulfill to find enough different and huge
wall vases to place them on my walls and to fill them with flowers. This is
just the beginning - a lot more will follow, but for now I need vases and
flowers in them!
My husband is all the time during the day at work, my kids (ups... ours)
are at school and I have terrible neighbors. As you can see I have no decent
company during the day. I have friends but they are too far away to go to visit
them. We meet sometimes and chat in facebook but it is not the same as sitting together
at one table. What I want to say is that I have a boring day. Recently I find a
way to make it a little more interesting. It had started with the kitchen wall
hangings I bought in the internet. When they arrived and I placed them on the
wall - voile I had found my new hobby. Now I browse and search the whole day
for decorations for the house. Kitchen was first and it is almost finished. But
they are more rooms to go. I think I will have few weeks of interesting
occupation.
